2025 Edom Art Festival – Need to brag a little!!!

One of our biggest supporters and trusted volunteers, Blake Boyd, who is a 14-year-old in the 8th grade at Van ISD, was encouraged to apply for the Young Masters Program offered by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Blake learned of this opportunity when she met Glen Ballard, Executive Director of Young Audiences Northeast Texas while she was MCing the Puppet Show as a volunteer for Edom ART Lab during the Edom Art Festival. Glen also asked Blake to perform during the Young Audiences Northeast Texas Fall Meet & Greet event.

Once asked, Blake didn’t have much time to prepare for the performance, so her parents asked us if there was a possibility for her to have a working session with a local musician in preparation. Sharon Walker (Cadillac Blu), a very talented local singer and songwriter who is also a supporter of Edom ART Lab, came to the rescue. After one quick session with Sharon, Blake’s confidence and performance improved significantly.

Congressman Nathaniel Moran, a supporter of the Arts, was in attendance and is pictured below complementing Blake on her performance.

We are so proud of Blake and wish her the best of luck with the Young Masters Program. She’s a very hard-working, dedicated, and talented individual; a worthy recipient for sure and one for which we are thankful!
